About Communication

Since the blog project of this semester is a collective activity, the first things that I am going to learn through cooperation with my group members are communication skills. Without doubt, members have different perspectives concerning the purpose and content of our podcast, so it is necessary for us to communicate effectively with each other to reach a consensus that is to the interest of the group.
Besides, as a elementary Japanese learner, I find it a perfect opportunity to hone my speaking and writing abilities as well as to apply what I have learned in class to real life scenario. Practice makes Perfect!
Furthermore, I will be able to gain thorough understanding of our topic: Japanese food! after the project and distinguish between 良い and 悪い Japanese food. Also my video editing skills will be improved. In fact, making a video about Japanese food requires so much preparation and revision that the experience is going to benefit me in the long run.
As for my understanding of COMMUNICATION, I think it is an integral part of our everyday lives. Especially for an international student from China studying at Columbia, communication with American professors and peer students is extremely important for me to understand western culture and blend into the community. The podcast embodies our group members' wish to communicate with Japanese food lovers both on campus and off campus. In this way, we will be able to share our opinions on Japanese food.
